* thankful *

"At ... moments of crisis and challenge, some choose to abandon faith just at the time when it most needs to be embraced. Prayer is ignored at the very hour when it needs to be intensified. Virtue is carelessly tossed aside when it needs to be cherished. God is forsaken in the all-too-human yet mistaken fear that He has forsaken us. The truth is that our only safety, our only security, our only hope is to hold fast to that which is good. As the mists of darkness gather around us, we are only lost if we choose to let go of the iron rod, which is the Word of God." -- David S. Baxter
I am a reader. I am a huge reader, and I guess what you'd call 'consulter', or 'researcher'. If something goes amiss in my life, I immediately consult a book -- I head to the internet, the library, or the ridiculously sized self-help section of my personal library. My kids are having a problem? It must be in a parenting book -- hold on. Financial question? Oh! I've got that .... just a moment ... Health problem? Wait for it ... (that one gets me in trouble. Several times a month my 'research' has me updating my will, convinced I'm on the verge of a terrible death).
Something I've not always been fantastic at, though, is remembering that ALL of the answers are at my fingertips, provided by the greatest of all authors, the source of all knowledge. I'm getting better, though, and the comfort I find, the answers I find, the peace I find, outweighs all other comfort I go in search of. How very grateful I am to have this guide in my life.

If it's not something you're familiar with, please take the time to discover the beautiful tools the Lord has provided us. There is so much heartache in the world, but you don't have to face it alone. Go here to learn more.
